THE CATEGORIES

NB: 50% of all prize funds will be donated to Coco. Registered Charity Number SC030428

THE CHOPS: Fashioned by the hardened gentleman fighters of the nineteenth century, the 'mutton chop' comes in many different shapes and forms. Not to be confused with Marc Almond style wispy burns.

Now more associated with punk & ska styled chaps, the chop still has a reputation as the more steely eyed, no nonsense gentleman. Famous chop wearers include Hugh Jackman, that Dave Gorman off of the telly & Bill 'The Butcher' Cutting from Gangs of New York.

There is only one category in the chops division: 'Freestyle'.

Winners Prize: Gold £75 Silver £50 Bronze £25 Bar Tab

THE PARTIAL BEARD: The modern mans beard, the 'goatee' or 'semi-birdseye' is considered to be a sensible and fashionable approach to face fuzz, worn by the likes of Kanye West, Brad Pitt, Colonel Sanders, Bill Bailey & David Brent.

The partial beard categories will be split into subcategories, based on style of beard. Subcategories include...'Natural', 'Fu Manchu', 'Musketeer' & 'Imperial'.

They will be judged for the overall winners prize...

Winners Prize: Gold £75 Silver £50 Bronze £25 Bar Tab.

THE MOUSTACHE: Ah, the 'tache. Once adorned by the olden day man about town, then adopted by western varmints and oriental warriors, only to end up in the 70's donned by pornstars, Bob Carolgees & Magnum P.I.

Despite the latter day beard renaissance we have witnessed, the moustache hasn't recovered completely, yet when tastefully done, is still the most elegant form of pogonophiliac extravagance.

Recent celebrities who have sworn by the 'tache include Borat Sagdiyev, Tom Selleck, Apollo Creed off of Rocky, as well as Joey Barton & Susan Boyle.

The moustache category will be split into subcategories, based on style. Subcategories include 'Natural', 'English', 'Dali', 'Imperial', 'Hungarian' & 'Freestyle'.

They will be judged for the overall winners prize...

Winners Prize: Gold £75 Silver £50 Bronze £25 Bar Tab.

THE FULL BEARD: The piece de resistance, the full beard is and always will be the most commanding & dominative display of facial hair. Be careful in choosing which category you enter...although the jackpot might be tempting, you bring a goatee to a beard fight, and you're in trouble my friend!

Despite this, mind, have confidence, as all beard styles will be considered. If in doubt, just check out the calibre of past beard owners; Brian Blessed, Captain Birdseye, Father Christmas, two thirds of ZZ Top, most of the dudes in the Bible, Abe Lincoln, Confuscious, Zeus, Che Guevara, Karl Marx & ur, Keanu Reeves.

The full beard category will be split into subcategories, based on style. Subcategories include 'Verdi', 'Garibaldi', 'Natural', 'Full Beard with styled moustache' & 'Freestyle'.

They will be judged for the overall winners prize...

Winners Prize: Gold £350 Silver £125 Bronze £50 Bar Tab.
